Farm Foundation Names June 2021 Cohort of Student Cultivators

Students have the opportunity to present to, network with industry leaders

OAK BROOK, Ill.—Farm Foundation, an accelerator of practical solutions for agriculture, is pleased to announce the six outstanding agriculture students who have been named Farm Foundation Cultivators for June 2021. These students were selected from a highly competitive pool of nominees submitted by leaders of agricultural programs at North American colleges or universities. Each student is invited to participate in and present at the Farm Foundation June 2021 Round Table meeting, focused on the theme of “Envisioning the Future of Climate Smart Agriculture.”

Cultivators selected for June 2021 are:

  • Shweta Adhikari, University of Georgia
  • Octavio Guimaraes, Colorado State University
  • Lacey Lingelbach, University of Florida/Indiana University
  • Laura van der Pol, Colorado State University
  • Vivian Vuong, University of California, Davis
  • Janeva Williams, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University

“As part of our ongoing work to nurture the next generation of agricultural leaders, we are proud to recognize this group of impressive students,” said Farm Foundation President and CEO Shari Rogge-Fidler. “This cohort includes Cultivators with focus areas of critical importance to the future of food and agriculture, including environmental and trade policy, soil and animal health, and robotics. We look forward to providing them with the opportunity to connect with and learn from some of our industry’s most respected leaders.”

The Farm Foundation Round Table is an invitation-only group of thought leaders, policy makers and influential figures from a broad cross-section of the food and agriculture value chain. The group, with invited guests, meets twice a year to discuss issues of importance to agribusiness, the food system and rural communities. Round Table discussions also generate new ideas for Farm Foundation project work.
