December 2020: Farm Foundation President and CEO Shari-Rogge Fidler contributed an article to the November/December issue of Food Logistics entitled, “Ag Tech Was Already Shifting. The Pandemic May Direct the Next Wave.” Farm Foundation was mentioned in Forbes in an article by Round Table Fellow Rob Trice, “Let’s Refocus Agri-Food Tech To Solve Today’s Critical Problems.” Our collaborative Iowa Farm Family Wellness Alliance effort to bring behavioral health support to farm families in 20 Iowa counties was featured in several Iowa publications including The News, The Observer, The Muscatine Journal, The Quad City Times, Iowa’s News Now and KWBG News Radio. Our December Farm Foundation Forum, The Next Four Years in Ag Policy: Leading Experts Set the Stage received coverage in Successful Farming, AgWeek, Capital Press and The Brainerd Dispatch. Farm Foundation and USDA ERS’s Emerging Research on Beginning Farmers and Ranchers Conference was mentioned in an article in The High Plains Journal, “Building a deeper toolbox to help beginning farmers and ranchers.”

November 2020: Farm Foundation President & CEO Shari Rogge-Fidler contributed an “In My View” editorial for the Australian Farm Institute newsletter, “Global Perspectives on the COVID-19 Recovery and Agriculture.” Rogge-Fidler was also featured in the November edition of “Inside Story” from Story Partners with insights on consumer attitudes toward gene editing technology, drawn from consumer research Farm Foundation conducted in partnership with several other organizations.

October 2020: The 2020 GAP Report from the Virginia Tech College of Animal and Live Sciences Global Agricultural Productivity Initiative featured an Expert Essay by Farm Foundation’s Martha King and Abby Durheim entitled, “Florida Agriculture Faces the Impact of COVID-19.” Our October Forum, Focus on Farm Policy: The Food and Agriculture Platforms of the 2020 Presidential Candidates, was covered on AgWired, AgWeb, DTN’s Progressive Farmer and The Duluth News Tribune.

September 2020: Our September Forum, Investing in Agriculture—What Does the Future Hold? garnered several appearances in the media, including AgWeek and Agri-Pulse. The hiring of our new Vice President of Strategic Marketing and Communications was mentioned in Agri-Pulse and Food Logistics. Lancaster Farming published an extensive write-up of our July dialogue on Sustainability and Efficient Trade. This was the second of our two dialogues on Managing Agricultural Trade in an Increasingly Chaotic World.

July 2020: Farm Foundation Cultivator Abigail Cox wrote an article about Farm Foundation for Hoard’s Dairyman, “The knights of the agricultural round table.” Abbie was the 2020 Hoard’s Dairyman summer editorial intern. Coverage of the event Managing Agricultural Trade in an Increasingly Chaotic World appeared in Ag Week and The Western Producer. Cultivator, Matthias Kunerth, was featured in The Brookings Register, The Globe and Aberdeen News. The Young Agri-Food Leaders and Young Farmer Accelerator networks were mentioned in AgWired.

May 2020: Agri-Pulse featured an op-ed by President and CEO Shari Rogge-Fidler on the need for more support for beginning farmers and ranchers. The May 2020 Advancing Digital Agriculture and Conservation Workshop appeared in AgWiredPurdue University Department of Agriculture web page and Soil & Water Conservation Society e-calendar. The Young Farmer Accelerator Program call for nominations was published in the Leader-TelegramAgWiredOregon Wheat and US Wheat Associates. The Young Agri-Food Leaders Network call for nominations appeared in AgriMarketingNewsDakotaLeader-TelegramAg Central Network and Washington Ag Network.

April 2020: DTN/The Progressive Farmer published Rogge-Fidler’s op ed on the impacts of COVID-19 on farms, farmers and rural communities. The April 2020 Forum Challenges & Opportunities for Agriculture in a Post-Pandemic World garnered mentions in numerous publications including: Lancaster Farming, IEG Policy Agribusiness, Daily Herd Management, Agri-Pulse Daybreak, AgWeb and Successful Farming. The Beginning Farmers & Ranchers Project call for papers landed mentions in AgWiredMorning Ag Clips and AAEA blog.

March 2020: EIN Newsdesk wrote an article about gene editing, including information about the Farm Foundation-sponsored report on consumer attitudes about gene editing. Lancaster Farming posted a piece about the March Forum on “Consumer Attitudes about Gene Editing” as did Potato News TodayRFD-TVAgri-PulseAgDaily and AgWired
