Sarah Smith

Sarah Smith is a master’s student at Texas State University, enrolled in their Integrated Agriculture Sciences Program. Her areas of interest include agriculture economics, regenerative agriculture, soil health and its impact on human, animal, and environmental health. She is currently participating in research to improve supply chain transparency and traceability, while finding ways for producers to differentiate their products based on their production practices, creating opportunity for farmers and ranchers to receive compensation for adopting practices that consumers are willing to pay premiums for.
Her goals include helping farmers and ranchers adopt regenerative agriculture practices, improving soil health, while increasing income. She believes that farmers and ranchers have the power to impact health everywhere, and it is our job as researchers, consumers, and policy drivers to ensure they have the tools to practice healthy farming practices.
