Richard Preisser

Richard Preisser is a research and development manager at Smithfield Foods. His responsibilities include the Innovation Center and Pilot Plant, the R&D prototyping team, pet food and treat research and development, the country meats portfolio, and the FSQA–Eyes Wide Open and Thermal Processing team.

Richard started his career at Hidden Pines Meats Processing in Madison, Virginia, and worked as a manager in the Virginia Tech Meat Lab for seven years. He holds three degrees from Virginia Tech: an associate degree from the agricultural technology program, a Bachelor of Science in animal and poultry sciences, and a Master of Science in meat science/animal and poultry science.
