Steve Kaufman grew up on his family’s wheat farm in Lewiston, Idaho. He attended the University of Idaho, earning a bachelor’s degree in agribusiness in 2005.
After graduation, Steve worked for Northwest Farm Credit Services managing a portfolio of ag loans in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho for nine years. In 2014 Steve returned to his family’s farm full-time as his uncles and father were ready to retire. Steve and his brother Jeff are now 50/50 partners in Kaufman Joint Venture, farming 6,500 dryland crop acres. Primary crops are winter wheat, spring wheat, peas, garbanzo beans, and canola.
Steve and his wife Christina live in Lewiston with their three boys, Ben, Will, and Tom.
