Samaar Davis

Presentation Title: Factors Influencing the Demand for Value Added Goat Meat in the United States

From the beautiful yet small island of Antigua and Barbuda, Samaar is a senior Agricultural Economics student at Fort Valley State University with a global perspective shaped by their roots. As a three-time honors student recipient, she has maintained strong academic performance while balancing their role as a student-athlete, representing the university’s women’s tennis team for three years.

Beyond academics, she served as a Student Ambassador in Fall 2025, where she represented the university and supported incoming students. Her experiences also include a Ministry of Agriculture internship in Antigua, where she gained hands-on exposure to farming and community-based agricultural initiatives, along with presenting research at the ARD Conference in New Orleans.

Her long-term goal is to build a career in agribusiness and supply chain management, while ultimately returning to invest in rural development efforts that uplift and strengthen their hometown community.
