FarmPath is helping build the next generation of American farmers.
Created by Farm Foundation and supported by The Mosaic Company Foundation for Sustainable Food Systems and the PepsiCo Foundation, FarmPath is a national, multi-year program designed to make farming more accessible and achievable for aspiring and beginning farmers navigating today’s rapidly changing agricultural landscape.
Supported by: The Mosaic Company Foundation for Sustainable Food Systems Pepsico Foundation and Farm Foundation

Now in its first three-year cycle, FarmPath launched with a goal of recruiting 300 participants nationwide. The response revealed something much bigger: more than 650 people from 46 states and U.S. territories applied, signaling strong demand for practical pathways into farming and long-term support for early-stage producers.
The inaugural cohort includes first-generation farmers, urban growers, livestock producers, homesteaders, farm family members, and career changers seeking to build viable agricultural businesses.

Participants are gaining access to virtual learning, mentorship, business planning support, peer networking, and connections to leaders across food and agriculture. The program is intentionally designed to go beyond production skills, helping participants understand markets, finance, land access, regenerative practices, and the systems shaping the future of agriculture.
FarmPath begins with a broad Year One learning community before advancing select participants into deeper business planning, mentorship, and implementation support in Years Two and Three, including access to funding support.
As agriculture faces rising barriers to entry, shifting markets, and an aging producer population, FarmPath is designed to strengthen the future agricultural workforce by creating clearer, more connected pathways into farming for the next generation.
