Marketing and Communications Intern

Job Title: Marketing and Communications Intern
Reports to: Marketing and Communications Manager
Location: Hybrid role / Oak Brook, Illinois, office once per week on Monday or Wednesday
FLSA: Non-exempt role
Hourly Rate: $18.00/hour
Start Date and Schedule: Part-time role with hours TBD starting either Spring Semester or Summer Resume Submission: careers@farmfoundation.org

Job Summary:

Farm Foundation is seeking a dynamic and motivated intern for the marketing and communications department to help with daily tasks and add capacity in a year where we are opening our new headquarters. As our intern, you won’t be answering the phone or shadowing meetings. You’ll be right in the thick of things involved in a wide variety of tasks: crafting engaging content for social media, creating eye-catching graphics, helping to manage our website, and learning how to keep our audience engaged through email campaigns.

You’ll be part of a marketing and communications team that’s at the heart of our mission, supporting our programs, events, and development efforts in the organization. Working under the close supervision of the marketing and communications manager, you’ll have a front row seat to non-profit marketing – from understanding our unique brand voice to mastering the art of communicating with a diverse professional audience. You’ll do it all while gaining hands-on experience with tools like Meltwater and Little Green Light, and platforms like WordPress.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, optimize, and update the website content of the Farm Foundation website (modified WordPress environment)
  • Manage and optimize the various Farm Foundation marketing tools (Meltwater, Little Green Light)
  • Write and create social post graphics and marketing content for social media and email campaigns
  • Assist with the creation of visual assets, such as social media graphics and marketing videos, and update PowerPoint presentations
  • Author basic email communications, newsletters, social posts, Biteable videos

 

Qualifications:

This opportunity is perfect for college students studying Non-Profit Management, Marketing/Communications, Graphic Design, or Web Design and Management who want to leave their mark on the world. Farm Foundation has a hybrid office approach so you will have to opportunity to interact with the full team on select days.
