Agricultural Competitiveness & World Trade Liberalization: Implications of the WTO and the FTAA

This May 2003 conference in Fargo, N.D., explored key issues and progress of the Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA) and World Trade Organization (WTO) negotiations, as well as potential impacts on U.S. agricultural exports. Other topics included country perspectives on trade liberalization and agricultural policy, alternative means to enhance agricultural exports, and issues related to exchange rates, subsidies and state trading enterprises.

The conference sponsors were the Center for Agricultural Policy and Trade Studies at North Dakota State University and Farm Foundation. Here is a copy of the executive summary.
