About FarmPath:
FarmPath is a new program launching in 2026 to equip aspiring and beginning farmers across the U.S. with practical tools, coaching, and early capital to start and sustain viable farm businesses. Participants learn to build business plans, access financing, and adopt resilient and regenerative practices to strengthen rural economies and food security.
Position Summary:
Farm Foundation is seeking a FarmPath Program Intern to support the launch and implementation of the FarmPath initiative. This is a paid, part-time temporary employee role structured as an internship experience. Working with the Farm Programs Manager, the intern will provide programmatic and administrative support and assist with the research and development of an online resource library and community platform.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
– Assist with the research, development, and launch of an online toolbox of tutorials, guides, videos, and other resources for new and beginning farmers
– Support the development and maintenance of the FarmPath community platform, including monthly virtual sessions, discussion board moderation, and participant correspondence
– Assist the Marketing and Communications team with social media content, marketing materials, presentations, and promotional assets
– Perform other program-related administrative and research tasks as assigned
Required Qualifications:
– Commitment to Farm Foundation’s mission and values
– Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
– Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
– Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
– Familiarity with social media platforms; experience with Circle.so is a plus
– Experience with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, Planner) and Zoom
– Academic background or interest in agriculture, nonprofit management, marketing/communications, or related fields
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
This role is primarily computer-based and remote. The employee will regularly use standard office equipment such as computers and communication tools. Reasonable accommodations will be provided in accordance with applicable law.
Compensation & Hours:
Pay: $24.00 per hour
Schedule: Up to 20 hours per week; schedule will be determined in coordination with the supervisor
Overtime: This is a non-exempt role. Overtime is not anticipated and must be approved in advance in accordance with federal and Illinois wage and hour laws.
Benefits: This temporary role is not eligible for benefits or academic credit.
