Menglin Liu
Presentation topic: “Policy Instruments to Promote the Adoption of Sustainable Nitrogen Management Practices”
Menglin Liu is a Ph.D. candidate in Agricultural and Applied Economics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Prior to her doctoral studies, she spent seven years as an engineer at John Deere after completing her M.S. in Agricultural and Biological Engineering from the same institution.
Her research focuses on the interface between agricultural production and the environment. She applies machine learning, big data analytics, and choice modeling to study farmers’ soil conservation and nutrient management decisions.
Her work aims to improve decision support systems and generate actionable insights for designing policy instruments that encourage sustainable agricultural practices. She aspires to a research career advancing agricultural sustainability and technology adoption.
