Natalia Espinoza

Presentation topic: “Simulating Blueberry Harvesting Date: A Location-Specific Tool for Georgia Growers”

Natalia is a Ph.D. student and Research Assistant at the University of Georgia (UGA) – Tifton Campus. She is working on improving the fertilization regime and soil amendments for blueberries under the guidance of Dr. Zilfina Rubio Ames. Natalia completed her Master’s degree in Crop and Soil Sciences with an emphasis in Sustainable Agriculture from the University of Georgia.

She did her undergraduate studies in Ecuador in Agroindustrial Engineering. Before coming to UGA, she worked in cocoa production and various food industry projects. She is a Fulbright Alumni and believes in the development of sustainable agroecosystems. In addition to her doctoral studies, she is obtaining a certificate in Agricultural Data Sciences and expects to use this knowledge to facilitate growers’ decision-making and the implementation of precision agriculture.
