Vera Adabrah-Danquah

Vera Adabrah-Danquah is originally from Accra, Ghana, and is a PhD candidate in Agricultural Economics at Kansas State University. Her research focuses on agribusiness, consumer demand, supply chain economics, and market resilience within the U.S. food and agricultural system. She is particularly interested in how experimental economics, survey design, and advanced modeling techniques can deepen understanding of consumer behavior and inform policies that strengthen trust and improve responses to supply chain disruptions and animal disease events.

At Kansas State University, she serves as a Graduate Research Assistant in the Department of Agricultural Economics, contributes to projects involving livestock markets and supply chain behavior, and teaches Decision Tools for Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness. She also serves in leadership roles, including as Vice President of the African Students Union, and has twice represented Kansas State University on the Case Study Competition Team. She is active in organizations supporting graduate and international student engagement.

Her academic background includes advanced coursework in econometrics, production economics, mathematical economics, discrete choice methods, experimental design, and survey methodology. Her research integrates these quantitative tools with consumer and supply chain insights to address policy-relevant questions about market efficiency and risk management. Growing up in a country where agriculture is central to economic development, she developed an early interest in how food systems function, how markets respond to shocks, and how policy can support producers and consumers.

After completing her PhD, Adabrah-Danquah plans to pursue a research-driven career in government, academia, or industry, contributing to evidence-based policy development. She is passionate about bridging economic research with real-world decision-making and looks forward to engaging with industry leaders and policymakers through programs such as the Farm Foundation Cultivator Program.
