Yasin Yildirim

Yasin, originally from Ankara, is a doctoral student in the Department of Agribusiness and Applied Economics at North Dakota State University. He earned his M.S. in Economics from North Carolina State University in 2022.
His academic work focuses on international economics, with a specialization in agricultural trade and foreign trade policies, including trade agreements and trade barriers. Yasin’s recent projects include analyzing the effects of the Russia–Ukraine war on commodity futures markets and assessing the potential impact of presidential trade policy proposals on U.S. and North Dakota agricultural exports and farm income. His current research explores how preferential trade agreements affect the extensive and intensive margins of agricultural trade. He aims to pursue a career in applied economic research, contributing to evidence-based agricultural and trade policy through academic roles, policy institutes, or international organizations.
