Sebastian Arauz

Sebastian Arauz was born in Quito, Ecuador, and spent most of his life in Athens, Ohio. He attends Pennsylvania State University, where he studies Plant Sciences with a concentration in Plant Genetics and Biotechnology. After completing his bachelor’s degree, Sebastian plans to pursue a master’s and Ph.D., focusing on improving agricultural sustainability and increasing yields in organic cropping systems.

He aspires to become an extension agent working with organic farms, ideally in a role that would also allow him to continue conducting research. Long term, he hopes to operate his own organic vegetable farm.
