Trade has become an increasingly divisive political issue. The benefits of well-developed trade agreements to U.S. agriculture are well documented. Yet demands are being voiced to restrict future agreements and to renegotiate existing ones. Farm Foundation has a role in promoting dialogues for decision-makers to gain a broader understanding of the impact of such changes, identifying pathways for meaningful debate and thoughtful engagement to assess current agreements and the potential for new negotiations.
