Jake Bailey is the director of operations at Mossy Creek Cattle in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, where he has worked for the last nine years. Each new season brings him a different opportunity and task at Mossy Creek, whether it’s fall/spring calving season, backgrounding cattle that will head to a feedlot, wintering cattle that will be grazed in the summer months, selecting replacement cattle for the breeding herd, or overseeing all forage production. The operation raises and harvests all its own feed. They are very active with the local youth 4-H and FFA programs.
Jake is a first-generation farmer and has wanted to be involved in the agricultural industry from a young age. He graduated from Virginia Tech in the fall of 2015, where he was president of Alpha Gamma Rho and worked at the Virginia Tech Beef Barn.
